How to improve your speed reading with your finger

For Beginners

Reading with your finger, eliminating the little voice in your head while you read, and moving faster with your finger than your eyes are used to, can DRASTICALLY improve your overall reading speed, and improve cognition and fluid intelligence to a much greater extent. By moving faster than you are used to on the page, you not only increase retention rate, but also allow for increased reading speed, until you can eventually speed read without having your finger on the page at all. Speed reading is a wonderful skill that any college student should acquire, it makes reading a book for english class all the more simpler, and will improve cognition to such a degree that it can create a type of almost photographic memory. When speed reading, use speed before comprehension (while practicing speed reading, not studying) in order to improve overall pace, and use comprehension before speed, in order to improve how efficiently the information is actually processed.

For more advanced practitioners

Ditch the finger and move your head along the page instead. Try to scan through an entire page in under thirty seconds, moving your head and eyes side to side in an effort to improve reading speed. Time yourself for speed reading, and try to improve comprehension at this point more so than overall reading speed. There is a wall that will be hit when learning to speed read, at that point it is time to, instead of honing your speed reading talent, use it to become a more intelligent version of yourself, in reading, reading, and reading!

Final Thoughts

More posts will be arriving on speed reading, because it is a very popular topic on this blog. Please leave comments with any ideas for it, or with anything you may be struggling with while learning or practicing speed reading. Until then, stay strong, hone your mind, and await more posts on becoming the perfect version of yourself!
